Welcome to Elizabethtown Primary
Dear Elizabethtown Primary Families,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and share my excitement about my appointment as the new principal at Elizabethtown Primary School. The Bladen County School District has a reputation of excellence. I feel fortunate to be joining a school culture focused on student learning, a commitment to high expectations, innovation and collaboration. It is my intention to carry on these important traditions and practices.
Let me share some information about my educational background and professional experience. After graduating from East Bladen High School, I attended Peace College. While at Peace, I earned an Associate of Arts degree. I then attended Appalachian State University where I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. After 12 years of teaching, I attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, I received my Masters of School Administration. I began my teaching career at Elizabethtown Primary. I have taught pre-K, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades. I have been a National Board Certified Teacher in the field of Early Childhood for 11 years. I renewed my certification in 2009. Prior to this appointment, I was the assistant principal for 3 years at Bladenboro Middle School.
I will be meeting with staff this summer to learn more about the unique strengths, traditions and practices of Elizabethtown Primary School. These conversations are just the start in creating a roadmap for the school's future. I look forward to meeting the Elizabethtown Primary families in the coming months. With my "open door" policy, I think you will find me to be open, honest and compassionate. I look forward to earning your trust and respect.
Enjoy the rest of the summer!
